🎨 About The Artsynior Center
The Artsynior Center was founded by Lorena Vera in loving memory of her father, affectionately known as “Nior.”
He was a gentle, creative soul who loved art and poetry — a man with so much inspiration still within him. Sadly, he passed away alone in a nursing home in Argentina, without access to the kind of creative engagement and companionship that could have brightened his final years. His story became Lorena’s mission: to create a space where no senior ever feels forgotten, unseen, or without purpose.
Our mission is to empower seniors through the transformative power of the arts.
We believe that every senior deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of creative expression and the sense of community that comes from engaging in artistic activities. Through painting, drawing, and creative workshops, we help older adults rediscover their confidence, build friendships, and explore the endless possibilities of their imagination — proving that creativity has no age limit.
At The Artsynior Center, Lorena has developed a unique and proven teaching method designed specifically for seniors. Much like learning to read begins with the ABCs, this method starts with mastering basic shapes and visual patterns — the foundation of all art. Once those shapes are understood, anyone can create beautiful, professional-level artwork.
This simple yet powerful approach makes art accessible, therapeutic, and achievable for everyone — even those who have never painted before. For many of our students, it’s not just a hobby; it’s the beginning of a second career in art.
Every brushstroke, smile, and finished painting at The Artsynior Center is a living tribute to Nior and to all the seniors who deserve to be celebrated, connected, and creatively alive.
We are more than an art center — we are a community of hope, healing, and human connection through creativity.
